I don't have Tiger, but I have Leopard. I'm not sure if this will work in Tiger, but it definitely works in Leopard. If you control-click on the Dashboard icon, the contextual menu pops up. Then click on "More Widgets..." You can download lots of widgets from that site. I recommend "iStat nano". It's available for download on Apple's site.
