You might also want to check out CyberEars.com for releasing anything you record. We use them for Podcast Hosting and it works great.

Hi Steve
There is a free utility called soundflower from http://www.cycling74.com/products/soundflower

Soundflower allows you to route audio from any application to any other application. So you could record from your media player to GarageBand for example.
All the best.

I can get the audio to record from the microphone, and thru the audio input jack, but I want to be able to record clips from my imac that play on the media player. with my old PC i could do this, but with my new imac, there is no option. Its either the microphone or input audio (and that sux).

Is there a way around this? or do I have to record with my PC and then transfer it to my imac?

Confused, please help.

Hey Ken

I'm presuming that you mean that you're coming out from the CD Player into the Audio in jack, not the headphone out on your mac. First chaeck that you're getting signal in by opening System Preferences - Sound and click on trhe input tab. You should see the sound meter moving as outlined in the article above. Once you are sure that you have audio coming into your Mac. In Audacity's Preferences Make sue that recording is set to Core Audio: Built in Audio. You should be good to go.
good liuck!
