Hi Gary,
I have an HP PC that is older than time. It is wireless and on all the time for use. If I connect it wirelessly to my Apple TV, can the ATV read media off the external HD on the PC if that is where the iTunes is directed?

You can set it up to look at the media in an iTunes library. So if you can install the latest version of iTunes on that PC, and then set the library up on that external drive, then technically, yes. But I haven’t tried it. If you have the PC already running, and have an Apple TV, then why not give it a try?
I might today and will share the results!
I have iTunes 10 installed on an old HP machine running win server 2003 with 2 USB drives connected. It works magnificently. No mouse no keyboard no monitor just log in from my Mac to add content to iTunes. The apple tv 2 sees it & it works flawlessly. First time that old machine has ever been useful.
How did you set it up Stu?
