MacMost Forum / Archiving mts. files

Any ideas how to archive mts. files from my Sony SR11 HD AVCHD.
I am using a iMac 27″ OS 10.6.3. I would to store them for future use to edit and create movies.

    I would just buy an external drive or two and archive them to there.

    Hi Gary, when archiving AVCHD .mts files. Would I need to archive all the folders or their is certain ones that I need. Trying to save space. By the way is it good idea to zip the archive to save some space?
