MacMost Forum / Can a 2.3GhZ, i3 MacBook pro 13" play Blu-Ray discs?

i have a 2.3ghz i3 powered macbook pro. and im wondering if you can play blu ray discs on it?

    No. No Macs come with optical drives that can play Blu-Ray discs. That requires special hardware (licensed) and Apple doesn’t license Blu-Ray hardware. Apple has stated that they are not going to support Blu-Ray as they consider it a temporary solution for HD video and that online will win out in the long run.
