Can I use both iCloud and MobileMe until the MobileMe services are terminated next year? I post photos to family so they can download the photos they want to print or keep..without burning lots of DVDs and sending them to family. Will miss that part of MobileMe.

Yes and no. When you move from MobileMe to iCloud the services that are offered in iCloud are then only available in iCloud. So email, calendars, contacts, etc.
But, services that are only in MobileMe will stay there until MobileMe is done on June 30. So Photo Galleries will remain until then.
But it is probably time to switch over to a new service since this won’t last.
