Can Pinned Tabs In Safari 9.1.2 Show What Page They Refer To?

Hi Gary! I´m running El Capitan 10.11.6 on a late 2013 iMac. I use pinned tabs in Safari 9.1.2, but sometimes can´t remember what page they refer to, especially if I have more than, say, three or four. The little letters are so small they´re hard to read and there´s often no recognisable symbol. I´ve
tried hovering over a tab with my MagicMouse 2 in the vague hope that a context menu might appear (it doesn´t) and right-clicking just gives me the option to close or un-pin a tab! Am I doing something wrong or is there at present just no way of showing the page a pinned tab refers to? Thanks for any help and keep up your excellent work!

What's wrong with simply clicking on it to look? Seems simple enough to switch to that tab and look at the page. No need to guess. If it is the wrong one, then go to another.
You can choose View, Show All Tabs and then see thumbnails of each tab. There is a keyboard shortcut for it too. So it is quick to do that, then click the thumbnail of the tab you want to jump into it.
FYI -- In macOS Sierra, you'll be able to move your cursor over a pinned tab in the tabs bar at the top of Safari, you should be able to hover (no click or movement) for a second and then a small piece of text should appear with the title text for the web page.

When Pin Tabs was first launched it was possible to see thumbnails, which I think was useful,as it seems is the feeling of Ian.
Gary, you mention that there is a keyboard shortcut for accessing the pages but you didn't say what it is.

Go to View, Show All Tabs in the menu bar. That's the function I was talking about. You can always see the shortcut for any menu command by going to the menu item and looking at the shortcut indicated to the right of the command.

Thanks for replying so fast, Gary! Of course you´re quite right, and I´ve been tinkering and doing what you suggest. So it seems the function I´m really missing will be in macOS Sierra. Thanks for this information! I´ll be installing Sierra on an external SSD to try it out…not too long to wait for it now!! Best regards, Ian
