MacMost Forum / DVD not recognised on Powerbook G4

Hi… I currently back up my data from iMac G5 to DVD & catalogue it on my Powerbook G4 so whatever I need to find in future is easy!
However yesterday the DVD didn’t mount on the PowerBook… it just ejects it…. I have been doing this for a few years & never had this problem until yesterday?

    Perhaps the DVD drive is broken? It is a pretty old Powerbook, right? It is not unusual for those optical drives to go. Try various DVDs in it. If they all fail, then you know.
