MacMost Forum / Future of Aperture

Photography bloggers are bemoaning Apple’s seeming lack of interest in coming out with Aperture 3. What’s your take on Aperture’s future?

    Apple is notoriously secretive about upcoming products. Anyone who knows anything about the next gen of Aperture is under a NDA.

    That said, a while back someone who implied they were in the know posted anonymously that Apple is coming out with something and that it would be “fantastic”.

    I think Apple’s secrecy is a stupid move on their part because people see the beta for Lightroom 3 and are jumping ship. Apple won’t breathe a word about Aperture 3 until it’s a finished product, at which point they’ll have lost a significant customer base to Adobe.

    Oh well. Aperture 2 works for me but I’m not a pro. I’m interested in what Aperture 3 will bring and will buy it when it comes out. Apple had better come out with something before year end, or I’ll end up being their only Aperture customer. :-)
