Hello Gary.
i use gmail as my primary email address and i have synced it with my address book.
when i started syncing rather than gmail updating its contact list it did the other way around. address book synced with gmail and erased all my contacts, because gmail didn’t have any contacts. thank god i backed up my contacts minutes before what happened.
can you please explain to me how to make gmail update itself, rather than updating my address book.

thanks

  1. I just tried this and it didn’t delete any contacts for me. It merged the two lists and put all of the contacts in both gmail and Address Book.

    Hello Gary.
what would happen if i sync my gmail account with two Address books in two different macs

    • Don’t know for sure without trying it. Give it a try and report back.

when i do that or even sync my gmail with my address book in one mac it acts like it is the correct one.
so if it is empty it will delete the content of my address book.
        that really sux..
for some reason gmail is not acting well with my address book.
i just want gmail to update it self from the address book auto, i don’t want it to update my address book.
and tutorials you can point me to so i an learn how to use gmail correctly????
i would get mobileme, but i think the functions it [provide are not worth 99$ yearly. really don’t think so, mobile me is the only thing that apple are not doing perfectly in. -_-
