How Do I Use the Random Passwords Created In Keychain With Chrome Browser?

I have an imac and am using El Capitan 10.11.6. I used Keychain in Safari to create some random passwords on certain sites. When I access those same sites using Chrome, Chrome doesn’t fill anything in. How can I get Chrome to access and use the random passwords that Keychain created in Safari? Maybe Chrome can’t access or use those random passwords. If not, then I guess I have to always use Safari since I’ll never remember those passwords! Is that right?
If it makes any difference, I have Keychain checked under icloud in system preferences.
Thank you very much.

I don't believe there is any way to do it. Google would have to build that in to Chrome, but I'm not sure they could access those passwords.
You have lots of options, though. You can still just run the Keychain Access app (a default Mac app you have) to access the passwords outside of Safari. So if you only occasionally use Chrome, you can just run Keychain Access, get the password, and copy and paste it in when you need to.
You can extend that into using Chrome's password storage system. So you use Keychain Access the first time, copy and paste, and then answer yes when Chrome asks you if it can remember that password.
Or, you can go to a third-party system like 1Password or LastPass. Then get the extension for both Safari and Chrome and it works in both. I use 1Password myself, but I also always allow Safari to place the password in the Keychain so I have it handy on iOS too.

Thanks a million, Gary. Sometimes it's just as important to know what CAN'T be done as what CAN. And, your suggestions to address the issue are great. Keep up the good work and the podcasts.
