MacMost Forum / How To Configure Software Update Server?

My Mac is configured to look for dummy URL as the default software update server. This dummy server is not up and running. How do I reconfigure my Mac to go to Apple Software update server?
I tried:
sudo defaults write com.Apple.SoftwareUpdate CatalogURL http://swupdate.Apple.com:8088/index.sucatalog This did not help.

    Are you sure that is the right URL? Are you sure you are using the right command for your OS — you didn’t mention if you are using Lion or Snow Leopard.

    Actually I fixed it. Using Snow Leopard. I had to delete the com.apple.SoftwareUpdate file. After that OS goes out to Apple server for the update.
