MacMost Forum / How to decrypt a file disk utility

I was staying over at a friends house, and the guy took a bunch of and my thesis and encrypt it. He doesn’t remember the password, he did not put it in the key chain. is there any way i can get it back?

    How did he encrypt it? Did he create an encrypted disk image? If so, there is no way to get to what is inside without the password.
    Do you have an another copy of your files? A Time Machine backup?
