How To Switch To a Different MBA for Syncing iOS Devices?

I want to switch my iOS devices to a different MBA. For the moment I have an older MBP I use to sync all my iOS devices. I have only one account. I am having troubles with the MBP and anticipate it will fail me soon (it is a mid 2011 15″). I expect to replace it this summer with a newer rMBP. So, anticipating the eventual replacement, I want to start by syncing iOS devices to another new MBA I have. Is the process simple?

Should be. Just plug it into the new MacBook, run iTunes, and then sync.
But a lot of it depends on HOW you are syncing. Are you still using Music and Photos sync? If so, then it will sync to the music and photos on your new MacBook. Of course if you are just migrating from one MacBook to the other, then you should be migrating all of your music and photos too, so that won't be an issue.
Syncing is becoming less and less needed now with iCloud. Data (contacts, calendars, bookmarks, etc) sync through iCloud. Photos sync through iCloud Photo Library. That just leaves videos and music. If you bought through iTunes or use iTunes Match or Apple Music, then that is pretty much a non-issue to.

Thx. I now realize I need to plan this better. The syncing I do now (and have for several years) was to serve as a backup in the event the iOS device went belly up. I did use the backup once to switch to a new device, thus syncing did help. Yes, I do use the MBP for music and photos. I live where internet connectivity is problematic, so photos and music are maintained on the MBP. However, your reply did point out the fact that much of my data is being stored in the cloud.

Please remember there are some of us out here that don't speak the LINGO yet. When you use acronym like MBA or MBP can you put a parenthetical that tells what it means? I.E. MBA (Master of Business Administration). Still learning guys.

F: Mike means MacBook Pro (MBA) and MacBook Air (MBA). These aren't really accepted tech terms, I never use them. But it got his point across.
