MacMost Forum / iPad USB cable

Is there any difference between the USB cable that comes with the iPad and the one that comes with the iPhone?

I’m hoping not, so that I can just have one plugged into my computer and then swap the iPhone and iPad as needed.

And they certainly look the same.

    The cable that comes with the iPhone 3GS is essentially the same. I use it to connect my iPad to my Mac all the time. What is different is the power brick. That is a whole different model for the iPad. Using an iPhone one will take 2-3 times longer to charge it.
