MacMost Forum / Iphone IOS 5 Query on installation

Do I need to update to ,ac 7.2 before upgrading to IOS 5 ?
I was doing doing both simultaneously. The IOS firmware file downloaded (811 mb). But it did a FULL back and and an error comes up “could not restore and error occurred” SO i just restore from a previous back up but that did not extract the iOS 5. Any tips ?

    You don’t have to do the 10.7.2 update first, I think, but it makes sense to do so.
    That error you are getting is something a lot of people (myself included) saw today. It is simply Apple’s servers being too overwhelmed with software verifications. Just try again. And again. And again. It will eventually come through.
