Gary, do we expect a new version of iLife to be released with Lion this year? I don’t recall whether iLife and OSes have been coordinated in the past.

No, they are usually not coordinated. Also, the current iLife (iLife 11) is pretty recent. No one expects updates this year.
Also keep in mind that the whole idea of an iLife "suite" may be going away. You can now get iMovie, iPhoto and GarageBand individually via the Mac App Store. So there is no real need for Apple to release them as a package anymore. They may just release updates to each individually through the Mac App Store. We'll have to see what they decide to do.
