MacMost Forum / Is iPad 2 carrier locked to AT&T?

I would like to know if I buy iPad 2 in USA and can I use it in india with local network? I really need to buy this immediately. Waiting for your urgent reply.

    Not sure. The only way to find out is to call your local network and talk to a tech there. The answer is probably “I don’t know” however. On the iPad 1 bought in the U.S. the special screen for buying a month of 3G access is branded AT&T, so it probably doesn’t work anywhere else unless you hack it or something.
    But why not simply do this: get the wifi version and use a “mifi” mobile hotspot with your mobile provider. You know that would work.
