I tried setting up a Mail account on my iPad that I’m already using on my MBA. However, I was unsuccessful, something about SSL. Is Mail in iOS 5 less functional than Mail in Mac OS X?

It shouldn’t me more limited in any way. It may in fact have more features in this area.
So I would just try again. Check and double-check all of your settings when creating the account. If the mail account requires some special SSL settings, make sure you are getting them in there.
I can’t find where to input special SSL settings.
It probably depends which of the many account types you choose.
I need help with this to please! I am trying to use Microsoft Exchange Server & the option for SSL is not available. Where can I find it?
Not sure (don’t have an Exchange server to test it with). Did you try just setting it up as the default “Exchange” account type?
I did. It won’t “take” :(
