I frequently run Keynote presentations from my iPad using the Keynote Remote app over wifi. However, I will be delivering a presentation tomorrow night in a facility without wifi. Is there an alternate method of controlling a Keynote presentation remotely, such as tethering or Bluetooth?

There are some third-party remotes. Keyspan I think is one of the companies. But I’m sure there are others too.
Of course that doesn’t help you if the presentation is that soon.
Maybe bring your wifi router and set it up alongside the Mac.
Unfortunately I’m visiting in rural Canada, and the nearest tech store is far and away. I can run my presentation directly on my MBA, but my projector cable is only 3 feet long, so it means presenting from an awkward position away from the podium.
Is there no wifi router that you can connect both to?
Unfortunately no. That’s why I was hoping there might be a Bluetooth solution where between my cell phone, iPad & MBA, I could arrange some sort of makeshift connection. It would just make presenting easier if I didn’t have to stand next to the projector.
Found a workaround! Created an ad hoc network on my MBA and linked to it with the Keynote Remote app on my iPad and was able to control the presentation beautifully!

Keynote Remote has been upgraded and now will also allow connection to your Mac via Bluetooth.
