MacMost Forum / Macbook not playing sound through tv

I’ve hooked up my Macbook 2009 13 inch to my LCD tv via mini Display to HDMI and then HDMi to HDMI in the tv…the video os coming fine but there is just no sound coming. Is there some setting that I need to change?

    Have you tried looking at the Sound preferences in System Preferences? There you should be able to set a sound output device. But it also may be possible that whatever adapter you got to go from the mini DisplayPort to HDMI simply doesn’t support sound. In that case you need to get one that does, or transport the sound with an additional audio cable from the headphone jack. See http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3065
