I accidentally ran the Mac OS X restore disc and basically reinstalled. I am new to MAC. Did I screw anything up in doing so?

  1. Depends on what you did, specifically. Are your files and applications still there? If so, you just re-installed OS X over OS X and most likely there is no harm done.
But it is easy to check out — just see if your files, settings and applications are all still there and working.
On the other hand, if you told it to erase your drive and install OS X, then everything would be gone (but you have a backup, right?). But it is hard to accidentally do that — you’d have to ignore the obvious warnings.
