MacMost Forum / Mail.app locks up every time I send a message

So I’m not sure what happened here, but every time I send a mail using mail.app, it locks up and I have to force quit. How would you suggest proceeding to figure out the problem?

    First, back up. Back up your Mail preferences and Mail Library folder in addition to your normal backup.
    Then, try removing any Mail extensions you have. See if that works.
    Then, try removing any rules.
    Try optimizing (rebuilding) your Mail folders.
    Try removing the accounts and starting fresh — see if the problem occurs.
    Then, if it fixes it, re-importing your messages.
    Or, you could just take it in to the Genius Bar first, to see what they say.
