Hi Gary,

I have 2 questions for you:
1) Should I turn my mighty mouse off at the end of the day? (with the slider underneath)

2) I have a new wired keyboard attached to my Mac Mini (running Snow Leopard) and the brightness keys (F1 and F2) are not responding. The ones on my MacBook work just fine. I do have the VGA out split to a Promethean Board and a monitor in my classroom.

Thanks!

– Jason

  1. I guess you are saying that you have a wireless Mighty Mouse, correct. The standard one is wired. I have a wireless Magic Mouse and I certainly don’t turn it off. The worse that could happen is shorter life of the battery.
As for the brightness keys, they shouldn’t work if you are hooked up to t a VGA monitor. Go to your System Prefs, Display and if you can’t see or use a brightness slider, then it means that the connection (VGA in this case) does not support that type of control.

    Thank you Gary.

I wondered about the brightness when it was not visible in the preferences menu.

The Mighty Mouse is wireless. My only experience with a mouse-like device is the pad on my MacBook. I do think that a Magic Mouse will be in my future though…
