I’ve often wondered if it is safe to physically move a Mac Notebook from one location to another whilst in Sleep mode.

  1. Absolutely! What made you think otherwise? This is the primary mode of operation for MacBooks — it is what they are made for. You are expected to put them to sleep, not shut them down, and take them from place to place. I would expect students have their MacBooks with them all day, moving them around constantly while closed and sleeping.
    I don’t think I have shut down my MacBook for months. I take it from room-to-room, on airplanes, hotels, meetings, etc — all while it is sleeping.
