I am on OS X and have multiple devices..
Is there a way for the individual Macs to “mirror” preferences, contacts, etc between the other devices? Or is this limited to just desktop settings, etc?
Is there any easy way to do this? —–

  1. The main way you would mirror contacts between Macs is to use iCloud. It is one of the primary functions of iCloud.
But preferences are another matter. You can’t do that. Some of it was possible under MobileMe when it came to certain things like the Dock, but not under iCloud.
But what, exactly, do you need to mirror? Do you have that many applications that you customize to a high degree? If it is just a custom setting here and there, then doing it on each Mac as you need it shouldn’t be that time consuming.

Gary – Thanks. I guess it was under MobileMe, is where one could sync the dock, bookmark, etc. (that’s where the preference’s came into play, because that’s where I remember seeing it)

My objective is the ability see documents created on one device, and the ability to continue, complete on another device if necessary. It doesn’t necessarily mean it would be on a remote location, oppose to just connected via WIFI in the same home.

    Suggestions?
