Having monster garage sale on Saturday (day after tomorrow). Attempting to sell 5 legacy MACS, it’s a MAC Parade starting with a Classic from 1991 (9″ screen and still boots up!) through an iBook clamshell (aka toilet seat) laptop running 10.3. Have potential buyer for laptop but Administrator password is long-ago forgotten. Please help! Can I reset this?!?

  1. Your best bet is to re-initialize the machine. Use the iBook’s install disks to restore it to its original state. Or, use a set of OS X disks — probably Tiger or Leopard for the old iBook. You should probably wipe the drives of these machines anyway and start fresh.
