When I command click to open a new link sometimes it will open in a new tab and view it and other times it will open the new tab but stay in the current tab/view.
Conversely the shift/command click will have the opposite effect.
Is this a “Feature” of Safari 5.1? Or is my system screwed up? Is there a random generator that I need to disable?

One Response to “Open link, not consistant”

  1. It could be the way pages are coded. Sometimes links aren’t links — they are triggers for JavaScript code on a web page. That code could be doing a variety of things, including opening a new page. Command+click should work consistently on plain links, but if you do it with JavaScript links then it depends on the script.
