MacMost Forum / Rebuilding an iPhoto library

I have several hundred pictures that are in my iPhoto library as placeholders in smart albums, but the actual photos were deleted. Is there a way to rebuild a library so that these empty pics don’t show up?

    If they are Smart Albums, then they shouldn’t show up once they are gone. Just try re-creating the Smart Albums otherwise.

    They aren’t smart libraries, and so that is what is so perplexing. They are either in regular albums or even within the events.
