Restore iLife and iWork from Time Machine (Lion)

Hi everybody, I have just clean installed Lion on my macbook pro. The problem is that when i restored the iLife apps from my timemachine backup these apps didnt work on my mac… i guess the solutuin might be copying some foldes or something like that…. thanks for any help…
unfortunatly i dont have the intalation dvds with me….

    I strongly advise against doing a "clean install" -- and this is one of the reasons. Re-installing applications is tough if you don't have the installers. I'm not sure exactly what you need, but the iLife applications probably need several things in the Library folder for support.
    You can mess around trying to figure that out. I'm not sure exactly what they need.
    You might be better off, depending on your budget, just buying them in the Mac App store if you have lost the install DVD.
    Or, you could always do a complete restore back to Snow Leopard via Time Machine -- if it will let you, I hear mixed reports and haven't tried it. Then do a normal install of Lion instead.
