Is it possible to setup two Apple TV’s in the same house?

Would I need two computers to do that? And would they work together?

Thanks,

  1. I don’t have two to try out, but I don’t see why not. It syncs with a Mac just like an iPod or iPhone — and I have more than one of those. Don’t see why you would need more than one computer. You probably can’t purchase a movie on one and play on the other, but for syncing your music from your Mac to your Apple TV, I don’t see how having 2 would be that much different than 1.
But why not just ask when you go in to the Apple Store to buy it?

      Thanks,

I don’t have an Apple Store close to me, and places like Best Buy don’t have the staff qualified to answer questions on Apple products sometimes.

Thanks for the quick response….. BTW, I just recently found your website and podcasts and they are excellent – I have increased my knowledge on Apple products. Thanks for the great tips… keep them coming.

I would like to connect my “old” apple tv to watch shows like Tudors…but new apple TV to stream Netflix…

Is this possible to have 2 hdmi connections – 2 wifi connections to 2 apple tv’s?

    • The wifi connections are no problem — you can have all kinds of computers and other devices connected to one base station. But to have 2 HDMI connections into one TV, you have to have a TV with two HDMI inputs. If not, then you can just switch the cable between them. Or, buy an HDMI switch of some kind to switch between them.
