MacMost Forum / Using the iPad camera connection

Can the iPad camera connection adapter be used to view video and picture files contained on a USB flash drive or a USB connected external hard drive?

    I’m pretty sure no. The USB part works with USB cameras, so it expects that, not a hard drive. But the USB port also works with connected keyboards, so who knows? Maybe if you formatted the drive correctly you could fool the Photos app into thinking that the drive is a camera. Then you can import the files into the Photos app.
