Adding midi audio to iMovie

Having issues adding midi audio files to iMovie 09. They will not drag and drop from the Desktop. Added them to iTunes and, although they show up as “add-able” when viewed in the iTunes list in iMovie, I cannot add them to my iMovie project. All the documentation suggests there should be no problem adding midi audio. Is there some kind of encoding that might be preventing these clips from being added? They were created using a musical scoring program, Music Score and Saved As .mid files.

One thing you can try is to bring them into iTunes, and then convert them. Control+click on those files in your iTunes library and convert them to either mp3 or aac. Then use those converted files in iMovie.

That does the trick and without any loss of quality. Thanks.
