adding video or audio links in non html mac mail templates

I want to use a template in Mac mail based on my logo with two columns on the sides and a blank area to
write my message. O.k. that’s easy so far.
But I want to put links in one of the columns to play a short video file or audio file upon clicking.
Ideally I’d like a small screen to appear on
the email itself rather than a new window.
Am I dreaming or is this at all possible without html.?
If anyone can figure it out I am sure you guys can.

You would definitely need to use HTML to do this. So why not? Assuming you know how to do it, why not use HTML?
But if you don't know how to do it, it will be a lot of work. I'm not sure what resources you have at hand, so it is hard to advise.
