Is Apple tv compatible with Windows. A friend has a windows desktop pc and wants to know if he can stream media from his windows pc to his tv with Apple tv 2.

Absolutely. Apple TV streams media from iTunes on either Mac or Windows. So you just need to install iTunes on the Windows computer, have them both on the same network, and I assume set networking settings have to be adjust just right too.
