Auto-capitalization in TextEdit

I have a question about the Mac os x lion TextEdit, is it possible to have an auto-capitalization when writing in TextEdit?

What, exactly, are you looking to do? Have it capitalize everything you write? So the first letter of every word would be upper case, and the rest lower case? Not sure why you would want to do that -- I can understand for a short phrase, like a headline. But it is easy to do that manually.
There is select, then choose Edit, Transformations, Capitalize. But that is for after you type, not while you type.

Thank you very much for the information about, Edit, Transformations, Capitalize.
It is totally a new information for me.

I was looking for having the first letter at the beginning of the sentence in the upper case, just like in Pages or Microsoft Word, the reason for my question is that the last time when I was working on typing some documents on TextEdit suddenly TextEdit started to behave like Pages and Microsoft Word, it gives notification with green underline to change the first letter in the sentence to the upper case,it was a surprise!

By the way the last two videos about Final Cut Pro X were awesome.

    Best Regards

There are many options for correcting spelling, grammar and text substitutions in TextEdit. Check them out in the Preferences, and also in the Edit menu under Spelling and Grammar and Substitutions. Lots to play with. Hope that helps.
