Boot Camp and Windows Upgrades

When I get my first mac, I realize that it would probably be in my best interest to have a copy of Windows 7 installed on the computer. Through my University I can purchase discounted copies of Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit). The website states that “Operating system for PCs based on Intel or AMD processors. 64-bit (32-bit). A license for Microsoft Windows must already exist on the machine to be upgraded.”

With the issue of the license, will this mean that I cannot use this software since the mac does not have a current license on the computer?

Thanks for everything. I greatly appreciate it!

You must purchase a new copy of Windows 7, not an upgrade. After all, you aren't upgrading from any previous version of Windows. So you need to buy the non-upgrade version. Hopefully your school has those for sale as well.
