Can I make a Mac to boot in target disk mode without accesing to the OS?

I **** the os or something like that
how i can boot it into target disk mode without the system
when i boot it appears a message of please reboot

    Yes. Turn of the Mac. Hold down the T key. Turn it on. Keep holding down the T key until it is in target disk mode -- you will see a firewire symbol appear on the screen.

    I know it is a feature of the Apple firmware, but does anyone know of a way/application to boot a Windows XP laptop into "Target Disk Mode?" Just wanting to avoid the network and shares so I can just plug it in a boot like an external drive.
