Can’t decline calls sometimes on iPhone 4

Sometimes when I get a phone call on my Iphone 4, instead of the usual Answer and Decline buttons, it says ‘Slide To Answer’… why does this happen and how do I decline a call when this pops up?

If you are using your iPhone and the phone rings, you get the Answer and Decline buttons. But if you are not using your iPhone, and it is locked, then you get the Slide To Answer control only.
Regardless of which one you get, you can still take action with the sleep/wake button on the top of the iPhone. A single press will silence the ring. The caller will still hear all rings, and you still have the same amount of time to answer even though the phone won't make any sound. Then the call goes to voicemail. But if you press the sleep/wake button twice it will "decline" the call and send it straight to voicemail.

When I am on a call, and I decline a 2nd call (call waiting), that person goes to voicemail, but sometimes it takes days before I hear that message. Ideas?

Call your service provider and have them troubleshoot the problem.
