Converting/Importing .VOB files for iMovie

I’m doing volunteer video editing for an oral history project, but the files I received are .vob, and iMovie won’t import them the usual way. I’ve had no luck finding a free converter that works on my computer. Any ideas?

Try FFMpegX, MPEGStreamclip or VLC. Also see http://macmost.com/importing-incompatible-video-into-imovie.html

Thanks! I did a site search before I posted, and that didn't come up, so I really appreciate the link!

FFMpegX seemed to work, but I have glitches and the audio lines up less and less as the clip goes on. Is that an FFMpegX bug and I have to export differently? Tried VLC, and that was even more glitchy. Oy.

Try a different format. Experiment and try things. See what works.
