cooling pad for macbook pro: recommendations?

Hi Gary, love all the info you give, thanks and keep it up.
Since the macbook pro only vents heat from the hinge, i worry about overheat issues when using my new macbook, in normal open mode and especially in closed mode, when using a separate display and keyboard. Do you have any ideas? Most cooling pads just have a fan in the middle of the pad. I don’t think that would do much for a macbook pro because there is no vent underneath. What do you think?

Do you have a specific reason to be concerned? Is the MacBook shutting down because it is overheating?
If not, then don't worry about it. I have a new(ish) 13-inch and it runs pretty cool. Oh sure, it gets warm. It should. The warmth is the heat being vented.
On the other hand cooling pads are pretty cheap. It may not be doing too much to cool it, but keeping air running over the bottom can't hurt it either.
