Deleting Corrupted iPhoto ’09 Libraries

Somehow my IPhoto library got corrupted. All the thumbnails were there as well as the original photos, but I couldn’t edit or play slide shows. I went to an Apple Genius Bar, where they created another new library and imported my photos into it. I still see my original IPhoto library as well as the new one. But I look inside the new IPhoto library (via view contents) I also see my old library there as well as another library that seems to have created itself. Question, can I delete the original corrupted library? Can I delete the old and self created libraries from within my new IPhoto library?

If you have three iPhoto libraries, then you should have 3 iPhoto Library files (packages, actually). Is that right? If so, just delete the bad ones.
But how is it you are seeing the old ones? iPhoto shouldn't show you anything except the current library, unless you ask to switch libraries.
It sounds to me like they might have messed up at the Genius Bar. Maybe you should take it back there and have them take a look and clean it up.

Many of the images in iphoto 8 are corrupted and I cannot open them. Thumbnails appear, but double clicking gives brings up only a grey round ball with an exclamation mark in the middle.
How can I get these images to open.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried to rebuild your iPhoto library? In iPhoto 11 you hold down the Option+Command keys when clicking on iPhoto to start it. I can't remember if that is the same for old iPhoto 08.
