How Can I Get Started With Creating Applications for the Mac?

I have a great idea for a Mac application. I am willing to do the hard work and learning, I just don’t even know where to start. I have no coding skills, I am not even sure which code I should start learning. Thank you for the direction.

That's a hard question to answer.
If you have no coding skills, then there's probably not much you can do on your own.
You create most Mac Apps with a program called Xcode and a programming language called Objective C. It is pretty hard-core stuff, especially if you have no programming experience.
Your best bet is to team up with someone who is a programmer and has worked in Xcode before. Of course the problem there is that a person like that may have their own ideas for apps, so if all you bring to the table is an idea, then it will be hard to convince someone to work with you. Hiring a programmer is one option, but if you don't have the money for that then convincing one to partner with you is possible, but unlikely.
There are many sayings in the computer development world that basically mean that ideas are plentiful, but execution is the key.
Learning to code it yourself is possible, but coding takes either skill, experience or talent. Often all three. Many coders have college degrees in Computer Science or engineering. Some pick it up through years of experience. A very few are just outright talented and can learn it very quickly.

    Thank you Gary,

I have the bare minimum with code, good old HTML. I am going to stay positive and slowly start to learn. My first step will be to install Xcode.

I went to enrol for a class for Computers for Beginners unfortunately there was not enough students. So the class became programming because quite a few turned up for this. I asked the Lecturer if i could sit in to see what it was like,he replied yes,but its pretty heavy going. After about 6 wks i said to him, this is like an alien language. He said did you learn anything, i said yes keep away from computer programming. You are quite right Gary
