How Do I Delete Files In Pages Control-Click List?

I am running Sierra 10.12.3. With other apps, when I Control-Click on an icon in the dock I get a list that matches Open Recent in the app itself. In Pages however I have an obsolete list that I cannot remove. I cleared the menu in Pages. The old list in the dock remains. Is there a solution to this problem?

After cleaning the list in Pages using File, Open Recent, Clear Menu, it takes a while for the Dock to catch up. You can force it to update by simply logging out of your account and then back in again. What this does is to quit the Dock and start it again, at which point the recents lists for the apps are re-created. There are other ways to quit and restart the dock (such as in the Terminal) but for most users logging out and back in again to their Mac user account is the easiest way.

Thank you Gary for the answer to my problem. Logging out did the trick. And I am now also aware of the fact that it does take a while for the Dock to catch up.
