How Do I Print a Single Label From Contacts To a Specific Location?

How Do I Print a Single Label From Contacts To a Specific Location (column and Row) On a Sheet Of Avery Labels?
Using iMac with El Capitan, v10.11.6. No problem printing label, but always only in column 1, row 1. Word would allow printing to specific location on the label sheet matrix. Surely Apple has a method?

Well, it isn't really fair to compare Word, an complex word processing app that is part of an expensive office suite to the little Contacts app that comes with your Mac. I'm not surprised that you can't do it in Contacts. And if you could, I would imagine there would be a thousand other odd things that would be at the same level -- making Contacts an unwieldy and overly complex app.
So why not so exactly what you suggest? Do it in Word.
You could probably do it in Pages too, assuming you could build a template for the exact label paper you are using. I see Avery does have some Pages-specific templates. Or, you could use the Word templates that it has and adjust (or use Word).

Thanks, Gary. I appreciate your quick response and also your complexity comments. Still, what I'm seeking seems rather elementary and I remain surprised that Apple doesn't have this capability. I'll try the Pages recommendation with Avery Pages specific templates. Thanks again.
