How Do I Slow Siri Down?

I will press and hold the home button and before I can take a breath, she says she didn’t understand me. If I pause during any dictation, she is ready to send message. Sometimes I’m thinking about what I want to say!

Yes, there is a way to make Siri wait for as long as you want. The trick is to keep holding down the Siri or "microphone" button.
This works on the iPhone and on the Mac too. For instance, on the iPhone if you are not currently using Siri, you hold down the Home button and keep holding. Speak as slowly as you want. Then release.
Once you ask the first question, you can do the same with the microphone button at the bottom of the screen. Just hold it down.
On the Mac, click the Siri button in the menubar and hold. Or, once Siri is on the screen, click and hold the microphone button in the Siri window. Release when ready.
It is nice to be able to hold Siri at bay while you finish your thought!
