How do you make a folder private?

hi, just wonder how do you make a folder password protected? thank you in advanace

    Depends on what you mean by private. Any folder stored in your user folder will be private and only viewable by yourself or another admin account on that Mac. If you make the folder or its parent shared, then of course you can assign viewing rights to others on the Mac or connected to the Mac.
    But if you mean you want to keep files private, even from the same "user" then that is a different store. By "user" I mean the user login. If several people are sharing the same Mac and using the same user login, then you have to encrypt and password protect the folder. Actually, you would do that by creating a disk image.
