How to configure Hewlett Packard Photosmart Plus wirelessly

I have a HP Photosmart Plus wireless. Right now, in order to use it wirelessly I have to switch networks on my MacBook Pro. Is there a way to use the HP in wireless mode without having to switch wireless network? Thanks.

So is the printer on a different network than your MacBook Pro? That's what you seem to be saying. I don[t have that printer, but I expect like any other network device it would need to be on the same network to work with other devices.
So why not put it on the same network?

That makes a lot os sense. But this HP printer has a built in wireless and I do not know how to put it on the same network as the MacBook. I had another HP printer and I plugged in the ethernet cable to the same router and it worked fine with my Mac. This one baffles me.

      Thanks,

Check the documentation. Call their support. I've got a Canon printer that you just use the menus to go through the steps to add it to your network.

I too have a wi-fi enabled HP Photosmart printer. You have to connect the printer to your wi-fi network so that your Mac (on the same wi-fi network) can use it.

The options to setup the printer are done from the printer. There should be a button or icon (depending on how recent is your printer) named Setup. Then look for Network (or something similar).

Mine has a Setup Wizard and I imagine your's does as well. It will look by itself for your wireless network (or any within it's range). The setup process really isn't much different than what one does when setting up their Mac or Windows-driven computer.

I just bought a Macbook pro and took advantage of the Printer offer "HP C4780". I have spent the entire day trying to get it set up to function wirelessly, but it will not find my Mac Extreme router or my network. If I plug the printer into my computer with a USB cord it will work, but it won't find the wireless network.

I am at a loss. I was on HP site and read the manual .... worked the Printer menu etc. Could this printer be a dud?

Did you try to call HP support? That's your next step. These printers are tough to set up with the right wifi settings and password, etc.
