My iPhone shows a time of 22:00 and Sunday, 9th January in light grey under the actual correct time and date when starting my iPhone. Where is that date coming from and how can I get rid of it. I had this on my old G3 and now again on the 4S when I backed-up my date to the new iPhone

Where does this show up, exactly? Are you talking about on your lock screen? Perhaps you have a lock screen wallpaper that shows the time as part of the static image and that is what you are seeing?
You right - just found that photo again and it had that date on the image. Thanks Gary.
