You can only connect to one wifi network at a time. So you can't be on your normal wifi network and a computer-to-computer network at the same time.
But why would you want to? What are you trying to accomplish by being on a computer-to-computer network that isn't happening for you by being on the same wifi network as your Mac?
I am trying to get Rowmote Pro to work, and this was recomended
